# 2 Random Musings For The Day

If clothes define a person, why don't the good ones come in the right sizes ???

Mirage/Illusion Or Reality

Near Churchgate, Mumbai

Came into my life,
Like a whiff of fresh air.
A fragrance so intoxicating,
That had me lost to the world.

A glorious smile that light  up my sky,
Made me see stars under the brightest sun.
Eyes as deep as the oceans,
Drowning me in melting pools.

An embrace to warm the coldest of nights,
A soothing voice to vanquish the darkest nightmares.
A beautiful face that reflected the purity within,
A joie de vivre that oozed from every fibre.

An impish grin that sent my heart racing,
A tender glance that  had me doing somersaults.
A comfortable silence that needed no speech to mar,
An enduring love that needed no special moments.

Closed my eyes for a moment,
To see clearer still through the soul.
  Longed to catch a glimpse
Once more of you.
Multitudes of faces passed me by,
But not the one sort after.
For you had disappeared without a trace ,
Like you had never ever been there.

Were you a mirage,
An Illusion,
A hallucination,
A figment
Of an over active imagination?
Or someone else's reality,
Before I could make it mine....

Years gone by,
The question still lingers,
Were you ever truly present,
Were you just another dream,
Or memories of another life long gone !!

Love And The Lonely

Love is power, Love is a weakness,
Its a pleasure, Its a pain,
Love is a myriad of emotions,
A riot of colours,
Its an enchanting song, Its a moving portrait,
Love is sweet smelling victory, Love is a bitter tasting loss,
Lives are founded at Its onset,
Its is the logical end to a story.

But to the Lonely, To the Solitary by nature,
 Love is :
A strong pair of hands that hold,
A glorious smile cast their way,
A friendly secret whispered,
A soothing voice that heals an ache,
Just someone to compound  a joy with.

The Song Of Life

A Bass here, a Treble there,
 High Octave, Booming Baritone,
Soft Silky-hued voices,
Mingle together :
 And let a Sonnet begin

Life is a song,
Will you sing along,

  Come together musical souls,
And create a Symphony :
The way it was intended to be.

Stubborn Innocence And White Lies

Was at the departmental store the other day and saw something both funny, endearing and that which made me sit up and think.
It was the antics of a cute 5/6 year old boy and his mom, out grocery shopping. I guess the mother in question promised him an ice cream of his choice if he helped her pick up stuff. I was on the opposite aisle and could hear the flow of words back and forth.
He would run around picking up small things within his reach and drop them off into the cart . each time asking his mom if he could pick up his ice cream. She would ask him to continue his errands.

After a point the shopping over, she proceeded to the check out counter expecting him to tail along. The smart  little one had other ideas. He plonked himself on the aisle floor and told her off loud enough for the other customers to hear of his intention of leaving the store not without the much promised goodies.Try she might, she never got him to budge till she bought him the offending food , redfaced and cursing under her breath...

The kid got what he wanted, the mother what she had come for. As they left, I couldn't help wonder if the seeds of deceit and disbelief is not sowed in our childhood. Would he grow learning the lesson too early in life, never to trust anyone's word or that it is alright to lie and make false promises as he saw his mother do.

I wonder, as parents, what qualities and values are we inculcating in our children and should we not shoulder the blame when they turn up as carbon  copies of our own selves, with the very traits  we hate but were the one's who taught them....

REGRETS

Regret...
Promises never kept,
Bonds severed,
Shattered Dreams - not to be reset,
Denied Moments - not to be relived,
Trampled Feelings - not to be unshod.

Regret...
Hearts that keep the doors latched,
Arms that know not an embrace,
Fists that never do open,
Faces that turn aside without a twinge,
Feet that walk on, never to return,Minds that never open their windows,
Corrupt Souls that fail to see the light.

Regret...
Icy fingers that throttle speech,
Weary bodies beaten down by the bitter wind,
A terrible chill that engulfs the mind,
  Hearts nailed and bled dry,
Whips that ravage and crush the soul.

White Wizard

White Wizard,
He's going away,
White Wizard,
Can't you make him stay?
All this time you were around,
Silent and Eager, Quiet and Strong.
Took for granted all the moments
Now long gone just memories
Of our unfinished song.
There you were
When need made me cling..
Its a crime, a crying shame,
That fear made me let go
Of what was mine...

First there was Fate,
And then there were Rules,
Strangers both to
One's that choose.
One sealed my lips,
The other crushed my soul,
Together tormenting,
Never for a moment apart.

Desperate mind that never knew,
Hell it would be,
To live without you.
Wishful thinking of a foolish heart,
Things would change..
Tonight the stars will shine'
Tomorrow the sun will rise again....

(This was inspired by the song White Demon - The Killers)
